I am inspired by: Children and their magnificent creations! I am inspired by fairytales! I am inspired by colour! I am inspired by nature! Rainbows, rivers, sea, trees, cliffs, flowers, butterflys and birds! I am inspired by peace, and love and joy in all forms... My own art: I primarily work in paint and colour pencil. I illustrate childrens books and magazines, as well as private commissions. I especially love the results of layered up coloured pencil. I love drawing people, landscapes and NZ native birds, you can view my online portfolio of commercial and private works, at www.annaevans.co.nz Children's Art: For the last seven years, I have taught children art, afterschool, at Whangaparoa primary school. Earlier this year, I was selected by creative NZ and the ministry of Education to participate in a project called "Artists in schools" 48 artists/groups were selected nationwide to work as artist in residence at 48 schools. I worked across the whole school from Yr1 through to Yr6 in every class. I created projects for each class which worked symbiotically with crucial areas of the NZ curriculum, successfully integrating the Key competences and engaged children in active learning which directly related to other areas of topic studies.

You can view an online digi story of my work in schools at www.artistinschool.co.nz
My Education I attended Long Bay college from 3rd form through to 7th form.

I obtained an A bursary and went on to study Fine arts at Elam school of fine arts. I graduated with a BFA in 2004, specializing in painting
