About Us
Mairangi Arts Centre is a vibrant and creative meeting place for artists and craftspeople. It is the North Shore's largest art gallery and also an arts education school.
Weekly classes, weekend workshops for adults, as well as after school art classes and school holiday programmes for children are offered. The facilities include painting, sculpture, printmaking and pottery studios as well as spaces for private hireage.
The changing, diverse exhibition programme brings the best in contemporary arts to a wide audience. Well known New Zealand and international practising artists show work regularly. Annual exhibitions include the North Shore City Art Awards, and MAC Students Show.
Members benefit from a monthly newsletter, term and school holiday programmes, exhibition invites, and many retailer discounts. Corporate functions with private showings of featured exhibitions have become popular. We are a non-profit organisation with charitable status and are goverend by a Trust Board and supported jby the North Shore City Council. Professional administrators manage the Centre. Experienced artists and tutors conduct classes and workshops. Over 130 volunteers assist, in a wide range of roles.
